How will the new MACRA federal law impact Medigap Plan F?

How will Plan F change in 2020?

January 1, 2020 will bring big changes to Medicare, but Plan F will remain the same. The change is that it will no longer be available to anyone who is newly-eligible to Medicare. Put another way, if you already have Plan F, you won't notice any changes to your benefits.

That doesn't mean you won't notice any changes at all. In fact, you may have already noticed some changes to your Plan F premium, namely, increases. Unfortunately, most industry experts predict premiums will even more beginning in 2020 as plans are no longer able to enroll newer turning 65 members.

If you currently have Plan F and are healthy, it's the best time to look into switching to Plan G.
